We all want to be happy, am I right? That feeling of blissfulness, the confidence that everything is just fine, no anxiety and fears surrounding us. Happiness is a warm gun, as the Beatles used to sing. However, does being in pursuit of happiness even work?

What Happiness Really Is

Friedrich Nietzsche wrote: “What is happiness? The feeling that power is growing, that resistance is overcome”. There is a lot to these words, since being happy makes people more powerful. That inner power is what we can use to fight off any obstacles in our lives.

Is a mental state that gives us the feeling of positivity around ourselves. It can range somewhere from light contentment to extreme joy. Sometimes all it takes to be happier is just a little smile. In other cases, the pursuit of joy is a long and tiring road.

In Pursuit of it

People who struggle with various psychological issues can feel that happiness is something unachievable. They will be chasing that blissful feeling like others chase their dreams. With both activities, it can be a real difficulty.

You will hear opinions that the pursuit of happiness is an important part of everyone’s life. After all, we all want to be happy, right? Little changes made every single day will slowly guide you towards a happier life. But is it worth pursuing happiness at all costs?

Take It Slow

Cultivate joy in your personal space because achieving happiness is an individual process. Take one step at a time to focus on the things that make you happy or might do so in the long run. There is no need for rush – take it slow and expand the joyful factors in your life.

Remember that the clue is not only to be happy but to stay that way. Happiness by definition is a long-term state of mind. Hence, achieving that ecstatic life can take some time. Once you start changing your approach to the pursuit of happiness you will be on the right track to a more abundant life. That should be your final destination.
