SCHOOL GUN SHOOTING

Blog - School Gun Shooting by Mari PlasencioBlog - School Gun Shooting by Mari Plasencio

Sadly, gun shootings have happened in our schools in the United States of America repeatedly. Some students and teachers have paid with their own lives, others have been emotionally affected after being at the place of the incident. Families were deprived of physical presence of their loved ones forever, but above all, the surviving communities in general live controlled by fear of insecurity of what can happen next.

SCHOOL GUN SHOOTING

When things like this happen the first question that arrive is:

Where is God???..… Doesn’t he care????

The answers will come from everywhere. People from different background and walks of life, will offer different answers and opinions. I would like to offer my response to one of the those answers today. Without trying to justify, contradict, explain or complicate, but this is just my input to encourage others especially my nieces and nephews that are in high school, and that answer is:

*** WE have removed God from the Schools, so Violence and Crime came in ***

I personally do not agree with this answer, why ???…

BECAUSE … is not … TRUE

If we believe in the Omnipresence (Omni=all and presence=present) of God, this means that God is present everywhere at all time with no exceptions or contingencies.

(Jeremiah 23:24; Psalm 139:7-10; Isaiah 43:2; Job 34:21; Proverbs 15:3; Hebrews 4:13; Isaiah 57:15)

There is no place that you can go where God is not there. He pervades and permeated everything that existed. Any statement against that Truth generates confusion especially in the minds of a teenager. God does not need an invitation or permission to be present. His presence is not contingent to your prayers or reading the Bible.

Now, what does make the difference is your realization of his presence, your acknowledgement of the truth.

Realization of God’s presence everywhere is the powerful truth that, can transform the behavior of humans, change the approach, and the way we perceive life and interact with each other.

I strongly believe that, instead of limiting God’s presence on things that have no control over. We should not generate fear.

We should be encouraging our children with the truth of God’s presence within them and everywhere. The knowledge of this truely encourages us to carry love and respect for all differences in all of us, because God never intended for us all to think, do, or act in the same way, but to love and respect each others differences, because this is the beauty of creation. Isaiah 11:6
